Women in Christian Service

WSCS EXCO 2023

This year, WSCS (Women’s Society of Christian Service) Sunday was celebrated together with Mother’s Day on 15 May, for a very special reason. Why? Because only women can be mothers, and at the same time be a helper in her family and community. Our invited speaker for the service, Ms Carol Loi aptly shared on “Raising the Next Generation in God’s Way”, a topic most relevant to mothers, and fathers too.

The Lord God said, in Genesis 2:18, “It is not good that a man should be alone; I will make a helper suitable, for him”.  How do we function as God-created helpers, created with His heart, for our family, church and community?

When I first started serving in HVMC, it was in WSCS. A women's ministry is unique, because it is a group of women who use their individual God-given gifts to help each other and the community at large.

I found that by serving in WSCS, I grew in discipline, perseverance and faithfulness. It has been a refining journey. I realised that we can only grow in CHRISTLIKENESS when we decide to serve others. I thank God for the women He has placed in my life, in WSCS, who helped shape me to be more like Christ.

Glory to His name!

Having worked for a number of companies over the years, I embarked on my freelance career with the aim of supporting the missions of my clients with good design. What energizes me is helping clients who want to be different and are passionate about what they do. I regularly donate my time and design skills on Catchafire.org, a platform matching non-profits with the professional help they need.
